The Smith County Chancery Court Building was designed by Mr. Watts Clark of Clemmer and Clark Architects and constructed by Thrash Commercial Contractors. The two story building consists of 18,968 square feet and a 432 square feet front porch with towering columns. The building foundation is slab on grade construction supported by reinforced grade beams sitting on continuous and spot footings. The building structure is steel with a masonry veneer sitting atop architectural precast panels. The roof is made up of a built-up coal tar flat roof and architectural shingles on the slopes surrounded by an aluminum sheet metal cornice. Electrical, mechanical and fire suppression systems offer the latest in comfort and protection.

The interior finish carpentry consists of stained Red Oak and Walnut species trim complimented by porcelain tile, VCT and carpeted floors. Thrash Commercial Contractors, along with our quality subcontractors, completed this work within the original contract amount and per original schedule. The building will be used by the Board of Supervisors, Circuit Clerk and Court Services for Smith County.
